Ghrisi Al Ghrisi, founder and CEO of Med Tours, attended the IFTM 2026 trade show at Paris Porte de Versailles to showcase new excursions in Jordan and other destination countries. He was at the same location as last year, but this time accompanied by two other tour operator founders and CEOs: Amjad Abdoud, manager of Two’s Company in Jordan, and Karim Shawky, manager of Elegance Travel in Egypt. The three shared a stand to welcome fellow tourism and travel professionals. It was there that journalist Alexandra Willemin met them to understand their actual stance on geopolitical issues affecting the tourism sector. During the interview in the IFTM press room, the first question put to Ghrisi Al Ghrisi was how to attract travelers given the ongoing wars in the region surrounding Jordan. Although the Med Tours founder had not anticipated this question, he answered candidly, addressing a topic many tourists are keen to learn more about. His message was clear and precise, as evidenced by his immediate response: “Jordan remains a tourist destination and is not involved in any way in external geopolitical conflicts.” Karim Shawky, the manager from Egypt, shared this view and offered his own testimony. The three managers who handle some of the same destinations enjoyed a great rapport, sharing their professional experiences to help promote their respective destinations.

As IFTM is renowned internationally as a hub for B2B meetings, Ghrisi Al Ghrisi of the Med Tours agency took the opportunity during the three-day event to visit other exhibition stands either to explore potential collaborations or simply to collect business cards and network independently of his own team. Everyone was looking for the best contacts and aiming to expand their networks, just like the many other attendees from around the world hoping to secure contracts or preliminary agreements. Participants were eager to pitch top destinations, promote travel catalogs, and more making it the ideal place to leave with a sense of satisfaction.

Ecotourism and ecology: everyone brought up this key term in every interview, a powerful word representing the ecosystem and sustainability. As for the economy, everyone managed to present their case strategically and commercially. Each had their own secret, yet everyone offered their own take on the issue of purchasing power.

Let’s get back to the matter at hand: which destinations does Med Tours feature in its catalog? Abu Dhabi, Oman, Turkey, Egypt, the United Kingdom, France, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Jerusalem, Moscow, and more. Med Tours collaborates with Amjad Abboud of Two’s Company and Karim Shawky of Elegance Travel to select destinations for inclusion in their catalogs of excursions and other tourist activities. Organizing trips departing from Jordan and Egypt requires immense focus and preparation to effectively showcase their respective establishments and signature styles. These Jordanian and Egyptian travel specialists share a passion rather than competing; on the contrary, they support one another, even sharing a stand at the IFTM trade show and pooling their efforts to gather as much information as possible from the event.
